On Tuesday night, we welcomed over 50 Dazed Clubbers into the special for an evening filled with drinks, music and in-store installations. In the spirit of tapping into the past and bringing it to life in different ways, we also hosted a panel discussion with Fashion Features Director Emma Davidson and Fashion Features Director At Large at AnOther on how to build the best fashion archive. For those who missed out, below we broke down everything that happened on the night. IT WAS HOSTED IN THE SOHO POP-UP Photography Betty Oxlade-Martin Tucked away on a corner of Brewer Street in Soho, the store was transformed into a Louis Vuitton and Murakami wonderland. Huge smiley flower pillows, vivid Murakami illustrations and the Louis Vuitton x Murakami collaboration motif filled the space. ALEXANDER FURY TAUGHT US HOW TO BUILD A FASHION ARCHIVE Photography Betty Oxlade-Martin For the main event of the night, Dazed’s Fashion Features Director Emma Davidson was joined by AnOther’s Fashion Features Director At Large Alexander Fury for a special talk. After discussing the significance of the LV x Murakami collaboration’s impact on culture, they delved into all things fashion archives. Famously known for his impressive collection of one-of-a-kind and special pieces (see our video on it here), Fury gave the audience the ultimate crash course. From prioritising buying things you truly love and remembering to look in unlikely places for things that are not super expensive, the duo discussed the different techniques and ways you can build an archive that works for you. As Fury put it fashion is “beautiful things for us all to enjoy”, so audiences were warned that selling for a massive profit was a big no. The panel ended with questions from the audience on the future of Fury’s archive and how to spot fake pieces. Pro tip: if you’re shopping vintage Louis Vuitton, never buy something if it is cut through the LV logo as it is not authentic. THE NIGHT ENDED WITH DRINKS AND MUSIC Photography Betty Oxlade-Martin Following the talk, guests stayed to enjoy some drinks, snacks and music. With a special set by Maxim Hun, Dazed Clubbers mingled and got to know one another under the baby pink LV light. Head to the gallery above to see images from the night. If you missed out there is still a chance to attend the pop-up until February 9. Head here to find out more information. And make sure to join Dazed Club to stay updated on future events.
